In business, the most effective form of marketing is not catering to what clients think they want now. It’s about looking at how they live their lives, what tools they use in their day to day interactions, and then give them something new that makes sense to them. Wedding websites are great. They serve a terrific purpose. When it comes down to it, though, guests don’t use them nearly as much as they could if the site was more available to them. They need it in their face to remember to use it as a tool, or better yet, in their hands.

I saw an article by the Wall Street Journal that talked about a new company, Appy Couple, that recently launched a website where couples can design and build their own app for their wedding day. There are many templates to choose from, and it puts all the wedding info in the palms of the guests hands (where they won’t forget about or lose it).

This is one of those times where you can actually see a lightbulb flick on above someone’s head – I wish the owners much success!
